Bringing in an out-and-out striker remains the priority for the Gunners this summer, with Viktor Gyokeres continually linked with a move to the Emirates.
However, Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has claimed that Atalanta star Ademola Lookman is a target for Arsenal ahead of the summer.
The report claims that the Gunners have placed the former Everton star on their shortlist of forward targets, with the forward understood to be keen on a move when the transfer window opens.
Lookman plays on the left wing for Atalanta and has 18 goals to his name this term, which has led to plenty of interest, if some of the reports over the last few months are to be believed.
If Arsenal do go on to pursue a deal to sign Lookman, they could already have the perfect gift lined up for his arrival.
As is the case when a new player is signed by a club, they are then soon awarded a squad number, which they will wear during their time at the club.
Arsenal currently have the No.10 shirt available to new signings, which could be given to Lookman if they were to bring the player to the Emirates Stadium.
The No.10 squad number has been vacant since last summer when Emile Smith Rowe left the club to join Fulham on a permanent deal.
That number is now available to new signings, although it remains to be seen if Lookman could follow in the footsteps of Dennis Bergkamp, Mesut Ozil, Robin van Persie, William Gallas and Jack Wilshere, who all wore the number during their time in North London.
