Judges , , and hosted 's first ever Icons Week this Saturday, with the former field hockey player taking to the dancefloor with her professional partner to 's Love Story.

Following her American Smooth, and Nikita were both applauded by judges who praised the former for her resilience after a minor blip last week. As a result, the pair were awarded a total of 29 out of a possible 40. But surprisingly, this landed Sam at the bottom of the leaderboard with and .

Much like Sam, the Olympic sprinter and bobsledder blew the audience away with a Waltz to I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston, and this was enough to earn her a total of 35. But the public vote sealed her fate for the dance-off. Montell and Sam took turns for the dreaded dance-off this Sunday, November 3, and judges made their final decision with a unanimous vote to save Montell and Johannes.

Fans were left fuming by the results, as they deemed that Sam had been undermarked by judges in the first place. Many of them took to X, otherwise known as Twitter, to share their disappointment.

"Pete should have gone home this week, he was atrocious. Yes I've read the spoiler & I'm really cross. The other pair should NEVER have been anywhere near the dance off", one penned, shocked that made it through to the next stage of the competition, despite the score he was given by judges on Saturday.

A second added: "This bottom two when Wynne and Pete are right there?!?!", just as a third viewer continued: "If we don’t see Wynne or Pete in the dance off next week i am gunna kick off." A fourth continued: "I need Pete to be the dance off next week. We’re losing decent dancers and he’s just not there." Another commented: "#strictly pete shayne and wynne were the weakest!"

A Strictly spoiler leaked online hours before this Sunday's results show had teased the elimination ahead of time, prompting multiple fans to take to the social media platform, with one notably calling out a fix and referring to judge . They wrote: "She was so vocal about it. They should now be honest about it if it is all female dance off. Males favoured!"

And speculation of favouritism was triggered once again by Sam's elimination: "Sam and Montell should never have been in the dance-off. There’s some mediocre men that should have been there. Very unfair as they were both what strictly is about. Loved watching them both progress", another viewer wrote this Sunday.

Speaking about her time on the show, Sam said: "I’m gutted, I just want to say thank you. I’ve learned so much. Strictly has just brought that spring in my step back. It’s just been an absolute joy. Nikita, you’ve been key in helping me find that inner Sam that was there, who went a little bit quiet for maybe one or two years and has just come back. I’m gutted because I do feel like I still have more to give."

Her partner, Kuzmin added: "I’m just in awe of this girl. Sometimes they say it’s about the journey, not the destination, but to me it’s about the company. Sam you are the most wonderful company I could have had."

This comes after fans have called out for seemingly breaking the Strictly Come Dancing rules. The opera singer, 52, was back in the ballroom with professional partner as the pair delivered an emotional rumba to Shirley Bassey's This Is My Life.

The winner ended his emotional performance by taking over the live band to sing the hit's final line and received a standing ovation from the audience. But while presenter and judge were both blown away by Wynne's singing talents, viewers at home were less than impressed and deemed that the opera singer
