Like, to book tickets, other third party apps are used along with IRCTC's app, then to know where the train has reached, we use another app. Due to this, we also have to face a lot of problems. In view of these problems, the railways have taken a big decision.

Railways is now going to give you relief from all these problems, for this, a super app will be launched by the railways by December in which all kinds of facilities will be available on one platform, just in one click. Let's know about it in detail.

One app, many facilities

According to media reports, this app will have many facilities. It will have all kinds of facilities like ticket booking, platform tickets and where the train has reached. This app has been developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) and will work with the established system of IRCTC.

At present, you have to use different apps for railway facilities, such as IRCTC Rail Connect, IRCTC e-catering food on track, Rail Madad, Unreserved Ticket System (UTS) and National Train Inquiry System. These apps have their own different uses and a limited function. But in this super app, all these facilities are going to be available at one place and together.

According to the report of The Economic Times, IRCTC will continue to work on CRIS and passenger ticket booking. Work is being done to integrate IRCTC and Super App. Indian Railways hopes that it will prove convenient for the passengers and they will be able to avail different facilities from one app.

What will be the future of IRCTC

IRCTC Rail Connect currently has the right to book reserved tickets of railways and it has been downloaded by about 100 million people. In this way, it is also the most downloaded railway app. If you book a ticket through this, then you have to pay less service charge as compared to other apps. The super app is expected to provide an additional revenue opportunity, as IRCTC is enhancing its technical infrastructure for this platform.

Let us tell you that in the financial year 2023-24, IRCTC had a profit of Rs 1,111.26 crore from ticket booking and thus the revenue of the app this financial year was Rs 4,270.18 crore.
