New Delhi [India], October 19 (ANI): Several rounds were fired at North East Delhi's Welcome area on Saturday evening, police said, adding that few culprits have been nabbed in connection with the incident.
On enquiry from the caller and in the locality, it was revealed that during this firing one girl, a bystander, Ifra (22) was injured and was admitted to GTB Hospital, police said.
Officials rushed to the spot after being alerted about the incident.
Police cordoned off the area and launched an investigation.
"Several rounds were fired at North East Delhi's Welcome area. One lady was injured, officials are on the spot and an investigation is underway," as per Delhi Police.
Information was received on Saturday at 4:42 pm regarding a quarrel and firing at Raja Market Welcome. On receiving of information senior officer, ASI Vishal along with staff reached the spot where empty cartridges were found in the street, police said.
Police said the firing was a fallout of a fight between jeans wholesalers allegedly over money. The crime team is present on the spot, police said.
A total of 17 exhibits were lifted including empty cartridges, live cartridges and deformed metal pieces. Few culprits have been nabbed, as per police. (ANI)
