The 59th Senior Maharashtra State Carrom Championship was successfully held at the Navi Mumbai Sports Association in Vashi. In the men’s singles category, Prashant More (Mumbai) emerged as the winner, while in the women’s singles, Akanksha Kadam (Ratnagiri) clinched the title.
Renowned carrom players from across Maharashtra participated in the tournament. The event was inaugurated by Maharashtra’s Forest Minister, Ganesh Naik.
Talented players from various parts of the state showcased their sporting skills. The ceremonial toss was conducted by Municipal Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde. He was accompanied by Maharashtra Carrom Association Secretary Arun Kedar, Navi Mumbai Sports Association Vice President Vijay S. Patil, and Secretary Dr. Vijay R. Patil.
In the senior age category, Faiyaz Shaikh from Pune secured the top spot. The four-day tournament captivated the audience with thrilling matches and skillful performances.
Thanks to the meticulous planning by the Navi Mumbai Sports Association, the championship concluded successfully. Present on the occasion were dignitaries including Carrom Sports Committee Chairman Vikram (Raju) Shinde and others.
