Traveltech major MakeMyTrip today said it has witnessed a 60% drop in bookings to Turkey and Azerbaijan in the last one week while cancellations have surged 250%.
Responding to growing public sentiment and geopolitical tensions, the company has also issued an advisory, urging Indians to avoid non-essential travel to both countries.
“In solidarity with our nation and out of deep respect for our armed forces, we strongly support this sentiment and advise all against all non-essential travel to Azerbaijan and Turkey,” MakeMyTrip said in a statement.
This comes amid boycott calls for travel to Turkey and Azerbaijan in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor for their “support” to Pakistan.
