American rock star has taken another swipe at after he called the singer a 'dried out old prune'.
The 75 year old didn’t hold back as he publicly called an ‘unfit president’ during his show in Manchester. The rock legend claimed that the American president runs a ‘rouge government’ which is ‘corroupt, incompetent and treasonous’. Trump quickly responded on the social media platform Truth Social where he labelled Springsteen ‘highly overrated’ and a ‘dried out prune of a rocker’.
President Donald Trump said, “I see that Highly Overrated Bruce Springsteen goes to a Foreign Country to speak badly about the President of the United States. Never liked him, never liked his music, or his Radical Left Politics and, importantly, he’s not a talented guy — Just a pushy, obnoxious JERK, who fervently supported Crooked ”.

He went on to say the singer is ‘dumb as rock’ before Springsteen reinforced his opinion at another show. After hearing the president's comments, Bruce, who is also known as The Boss, said, “In my home, they're persecuting people for their right to free speech and voicing their dissent. That's happening now. In America, the richest men are taking satisfaction in abandoning the world's poorest children to sickness and death.”
He continued: “That's happening now. In my country, they're taking sadistic pleasure in the pain they inflict on loyal American workers”.
Shortly after Springsteen shared his opinions on stage, he was shown support by the American Federation of Musicians, who have also stood behind . The labour union group said both Taylor and Bruce were ‘singled out’ by Trump after the president previously stated he ‘hates’ Taylor Swift.
The group said, “The American Federation of Musicians of the United States and Canada will not remain silent as two of our members − Bruce Springsteen and Taylor Swift − are singled out and personally attacked by the President of the United States. Bruce Springsteen and Taylor Swift are not just brilliant musicians, they are role models and inspirations to millions of people in the United States and across the . Musicians have the right to freedom of expression, and we stand in solidarity with all our members.”
While this is the first time Springsteen has expressed his strong opinions of Trump on stage, he has been publicly critical of his policies in the past. The singer was seen previously in a video declaring his political stance and revealed he was voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz for the 2024 presidential election.
He said, "Donald Trump doesn't understand what it means to be deeply American. On the other hand, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are committed to a vision of this country that respects and includes everyone. That's the vision of America I've been consistently writing about."
