Things are set to spiral for killer and beyond, in the fallout to a shocking discovery.
John, played by actor Oliver Farnworth, was confirmed to be the killer of Nate Robinson in shocking episodes this week. But amid other secrets and crimes also being kept from villagers, he could be exposed over one of his lies next week.
Spoilers have confirmed the medic starts to raise suspicions for more than one character, ahead of something else no doubt set to cause some pressure. Questions are being asked about Nate's whereabouts now, so surely it's only a matter of time before they quiz him on his village exit given he was the last person to see him.
But it's not Nate's death, yet to be exposed, that could seal John's downfall. An incident next week sees multiple characters confronting John over the truth about Anthony Fox's death and where he is supposedly buried.
There's a bombshell find about the recently murdered villain that could expose John over a possible lie. After the Miligans receive flowers supposedly from the dead character, his granddaughter/daughter Steph panics and fears he is alive.
READ MORE:
She's only recently found out that Anthony is her biological father after he raped her mother Ruby as a teenager. She also found out Ruby killed him and that John hid the body, with several villagers now covering up the crime.
So when the flowers arrive with a warning that Anthony is out to get her and her parents, she decides he has to be alive. Next week she goes to the location of where his body is said to be and begins clawing at the ground.
As she does this her parents arrive, soon joined by John and his partner Aaron Dingle. Steph declares that Anthony is not buried there, and nothing has been buried there ever.
The way the ground is set leaves her pointing out it has not been disturbed. She soon confronts John and accuses him of lying about Anthony being dead, but what will he say?
Is he hiding something about Anthony's true fate, and where he buried the body if he is dead? All will be revealed next week, as John reveals the truth.
Our soap insider teased: "John needs to get on top of this fast. Whether he's hiding something about Anthony remains to be seen, but he's harbouring so many dark secrets.
"If he raises suspicions over Anthony, it's only going to be a matter of time before his lies start to unravel. If he's capable of lying about where Anthony is buried, it's safe to assume residents will be left wondering what else he could be hiding from them all?
"He's currently the village hero who could do no wrong, but all it will take is one tiny slip-up or one lie being rumbled for the house of cards to come tumbling down."
