Alisson holds exit talks

Alisson appears to be heading for the Anfield exit door, with Galatasaray stepping up their pursuit of the Brazilian. He has been a key member of the Reds' team since arriving from Roma.

But last summer's move for Giorgi Mamardashvili has put Alisson's future under threat. According to Sabah, Galatasaray are targeting a move for the 32-year-old keeper.

The Super Lig leaders are said to be 'discussing' Alisson among a number of other options. The Brazilian's contract runs until the summer of 2027, but with Mamardashvili set to arrive in Merseyside this summer, Liverpool may well be willing to let him go.

Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler has urged his former club to make Micky van de Ven their replacement for Virgil van Dijk. Van Dijk is out of contract in the summer and Fowler believes Van de Ven could be the perfect solution at centre-back.

He said: "I'm the sort of fan that thinks if you're not out there signing good players then you're slipping behind the competition and are slipping backwards. If you're not doing that and improving the squad you can plateau.

"When it comes to Micky van de Ven, he's a very very good player despite having his injury problems. I think he is strong, fast and I think he would look right in a Liverpool shirt. I know fans won't want to hear that but it's a compliment to him."

Slot injury boost

Alisson appears set to return to the Liverpool squad after missing Sunday's defeat to Fulham. The Brazilian suffered a concussion while featuring for his country last month and also missed the Merseyside Derby win over .

But he has been pictured working in the gym alongside his team-mates ahead of Sunday's clash with West Ham. Boss Arne Slot revealed on Sunday that the keeper was at the mercy of the concussion protocols.

Slot told Sport: "There’s a week to go [until the next match] so that gives us a bit of time. But you know as Liverpool we always follow the protocol in moments like this when it’s a concussion. If you haven’t ticked all the boxes, he can’t be in goal. He wants it a lot but the protocol is the protocol.”
