Max Verstappen was left raging at after a scary near miss during qualifying for the . Both drivers turned the air blue over the radio as they reacted to the moment they almost crashed at high speed on the tight Monte Carlo street track.

"F*** whoa! Mate! F*** Lewis," he fumed. And then the TV broadcasts showed that Hamilton had also been left swearing over the radio, though his ire was directed at his Ferrari race engineer Riccardo Adami for giving him some unclear information.

Adami had warned him that Verstappen was coming fast, three seconds behind him on track. But then he sent a second message straight after to tell the Brit that the was actually moving slowly – only for it to then roar past around the outside.
"Sorry, he's slowing down behind, watch your mirrors," Adami told Hamilton. And when it became clear to the driver that he had just impeded Verstappen, he replied: "You said he was slowing down mate! F*** man."
