The flying Dutchman has already completed his medical tests ahead of signing a long-term deal on Merseyside where he will provide competition for Conor Bradley.
Liverpool boss Arne Slot refused to confirm whether the deal was done on Monday, saying coyly when quizzed for an update: “What do you think? I think what we all know is the moment we announce it, that is the moment to talk about it in general. We haven’t announced anything so no need to talk about anyone.”
Frimpong's international team-mate added when asked if a deal was done: "Maybe, I don’t know yet. Maybe you know more than me! But yes, obviously another Dutchman, English as well, but a very good guy. We know him from the national team and a very good player as well so let’s see if he comes or not.”
