Rohan Jaitley may take over as the secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). This will happen in case Jay Shah steps down from the post of BCCI secretary in November. In August this year, Shah was elected unopposed as the new ICC chairman. Jay Shah will take over as ICC chief from December 1, replacing current chairman Greg Barclay. Jay Shah is the youngest person to be elected ICC chairman.

Till then, a new BCCI secretary will have to be found. Rohan's name is at the forefront of this post. Rohan is the son of former Union Minister and BJP leader late Arun Jaitley. There are reports of him being selected for this post. Abhishek Dalmiya, son of former BCCI and ICC president Jagmohan Dalmiya, is also in the race for this post. Earlier, Abhishek was the president of the Bengal Cricket Association. But, at present, Rohan is being given preference.

Currently, Rohan is the President of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA). Rohan came into cricket administration four years ago. After this, he was appointed the President of DDCA. Arun Jaitley held this post for 14 years. While Rohan was the President, five matches of the One Day World Cup were played in Delhi's Arun Jaitley Stadium, named after his father. Rohan has also been the Vice President of BCCI.

Now talking about Jai Shah, is the third person from India to become ICC chairman. N Srinivasan held this post from 2014 to 2015 and Shashank Manohar from 2015 to 2020. Two Indians have also held the post of ICC President. Jagmohan Dalmiya (from 1997 to 2000) and Sharad Pawar (from 2010 to 2012) were presidents.
