You may have often heard that every generation believes that they are smarter than the previous generation and more intelligent than the next generation. This belief is very old and perhaps a part of human nature. As time changes, new technologies, knowledge and experiences keep getting added. Due to this, every new generation has new information and modern perspectives, which teach them to think in a different and new way than the previous generation.
Why the differences between generations?
Every generation's time, thinking and lifestyle is different. Just as today's young generation is growing up in the digital age, where the internet, smartphones and social media have become a part of their everyday life, the older generation had its own different priorities and life experiences. New technologies and information come to today's youth so fast that they consider themselves more aware and knowledgeable.
But when the older generation talks about their wisdom, they take pride in their experiences and the times they have seen. They feel that the experience of understanding life closely and seeing it through challenging times makes them wiser.
The difference in knowledge between generations
The new generation is mostly aware of modern technology and new ideas, which enables them to adapt quickly to the changing world. On the other hand, the older generation has a deep knowledge of those experiences of life, which include patience, struggle and values. For this reason, even though the knowledge and understanding of the new and the old generation may be different, both have their own special importance.
Different thoughts, but same goal
Although there is a difference in approach between the two generations, ultimately the aim of both is the same - to make life better. The older generation wants to pass on what they have learned along with their experience to the next generation so that their mistakes are not repeated. On the other hand, the aim of the new generation is to give a new direction to life with new thinking, where one can move ahead with technological development and modernity.
Sharing understanding: moving forward together
Often, if both generations try to understand each other's point of view, they can learn a lot from each other. The new generation can learn respect for old things, patience and the importance of a lively life. At the same time, the old generation can get an opportunity to understand technical knowledge and new thinking from the new generation.
