Football star Alisha Lehmann has publicly confirmed that she and Douglas Luiz have split up. Fans began to wonder about the two former players' relationship status after a viral hoax appeared to show flirting with Lehmann on Instagram.
The showed Grealish commenting: "Happy Mother's Day [heart emoji]." Lehmann replied: "I am not a mom but thanks". And Grealish said back: "I can change that [wink emoji]". A look through the comments on the post revealed that there had been no such interaction between the pair, and Lehmann responded to the image posted on X by with a 'tears of joy' emoji from her own personal account.
In response to that, one fan asked: "What about Douglas Luiz?" And Lehmann to indicate that their relationship had ended.
Lehmann and Luiz first started dating in 2021, when they were playing for Aston Villa's women and men's team respectively. They went their separate ways for a period of time as Lehmann coupled up with her Switzerland team-mate, Ramona Bachmann, but she and Luiz reconciled in 2023.
A curveball was thrown their way when Luiz was signed by Juventus last year as part of a player-plus-cash deal involving Samuel Iling-Junior and Enzo barrenechea. But Lehmann was promptly snapped up by the Bianconeri and joined him in Turin only a few days later.
Luiz was a notable absentee from Lehmann's Serie A title celebrations last month, and emerged at the end of April suggesting that the pair were no longer together. That has now been confirmed by the Swiss women's star.
The fake Grealish interaction also stirred up interest due to his high-profile relationship with model Sasha Attwood. The couple welcomed their first child in September last year - a daughter named Mila Rose.
Grealish and Attwood began their on-and-off relationship after meeting as teenagers growing up in the West Midlands. Grealish made his breakthrough with Aston Villa in 2014/15, and seven seasons later he landed at Manchester City in a £100million deal - a Premier League record at the time.
The 29-year-old was a prominent figure in City's treble-winning 2022/23 campaign, but he has been forced to accept a bit-part role under Pep Guardiola this season, and there are rumours suggesting an exit could be on the cards this summer.
