Tomorrow night will see legendary singer Andrea Bocelli kick off his much anticipated European tour at Manchester's Co-op Live arena - a celebration of his incredible 30 year career. Bocelli, who is now 66, is the most successful classical artist of all time, having sold over 90 million albums to date and generated more than 16 billion streams. Over three decades at the top of his game he has performed for Popes, including the late Pope Francis, Presidents, Prime Ministers and royalty. He has also sung in many of the world's greatest concert halls and opera houses.
It's safe to say that Andrea Bocelli has one of the most recognisable voices in the entertainment industry. A talented musician, he began playing the piano at six years old. Later, aged 12, he became totally blind after a football accident saw him suffer a brain hemorrhage. His biggest hits include Time To Say Goodbye, Perfect Symphony (performed with pop singer Ed Sheeran), Because We Believe, composed for the closing ceremony of the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, and The Prayer, famously duetting with the legendary Celine Dion.
Last year, to celebrate three decades of music, he released a new Duets album, which featured a variety of Bocelli's most beloved collaborations. Ed Sheeran and Celine Dion were in the mix of course, as well as Luciano Pavarotti. And there were newly recorded tracks for fans to enjoy too, with Shania Twain, Chris Stapleton, Karol G, and more.
But tomorrow will see the beloved tenor kick off his European tour, starting in Manchester at the Co-op Live arena, before heading to Dublin's 3Arena, then London's O2. And there's still time to . But hurry - it's nearly a sell-out! We'll see you at the front.
