In a poignant message to her Instagram followers on Sunday, 27 October, Kerry disclosed: "Hi everyone, I'm just giving you an update on my mum. She wants to say thank you so much for all her well wishes."

Struggling with emotion, she added: "An update on my mum's health, she's still not very well, there is a clot attached to her heart."

Addressing her mum directly, Kerry said: "There are so many underlying problems with my mum, and I know she's going to be watching this. She's still got a very wicked sense of humour and I will see you shortly, mother."

Kerry assured fans: "She's in the right place, I don't think you'll be coming home anytime soon mother, so me and Mr [the cat] are having fun as I can. Waiting for the washing to be done and then I will see you shortly mum", reports

The star urged her mum to cooperate with the hospital staff: "Do as you are told, which I know you don't like doing."

Despite the circumstances, she concluded with a light-hearted remark about her unexpected weight loss, chuckling: "But the main thing is I've lost loads of weight because of it, which is great, thanks for that mum. See you soon."

On Saturday, 26 October, the TV star shared the distressing news that her mother had been hospitalised. In a heartfelt video posted on Instagram, Kerry said: "Hi everybody, please excuse the state of me, I haven't been to bed since 3am, not this morning, the day before."

She detailed the ordeal: "I've taken my mum into hospital, we've had no sleep, for those of you who are aware, thank you all so very much for the messages. The hospital found clots on my mum's lungs, so she's not in a good way, I'm absolutely exhausted."

Kerry went on to describe her exhaustion and concern: "I need to get some sleep so I can get to the hospital and be there for my mum. I've come back to my mum's flat, because it's closest to the hospital, so I can get back there. Big love to you mum. You really scared me. I could throttle you. But I got her to the hospital and that's the main thing. And I stayed with her. It was absolutely exhausting, I need to get some sleep. My mum sends her love to everybody, I asked everybody to say a prayer to keep her strong and keep her fighting."

In the caption of the post, she expressed gratitude towards her well-wishers: "Thank you all for your texts and messages sorry if I've not replied but I really need to get some sleep so I can be at my best for my mum. Also the biggest shout out to all the staff nurses and doctors at the hospital you guys are truly amazing and work your asses off so much!".
