NEW DELHI: A fire broke out early Saturday in the warehouse of a company that supplied tenting materials for the recently concluded Maha Kumbh, located in the Parade Ground area, an official said.
Firefighting efforts were immediately launched, with several water tenders rushed to the spot.
Prayagraj's Chief Fire Officer Rajiv Kumar Pandey said six water tenders had been deployed, and additional support from nearby areas was on the way to help douse the flames.
No casualties have been reported so far. Logs and tent materials were stored in the warehouse.
Rahul, an employee at a nearby godown, claimed he heard the sound of cylinders exploding during the incident.
