BENGALURU: Ricky Rai , the younger son of late former underworld don Muttappa Rai , was shot at and injured by miscreants outside his Bidadi bungalow in Ramanagara district on Friday, just past midnight.
Ricky, accompanied by his driver Basavaraju and a gunman, was in his sports utility vehicle (SUV) when the incident occurred. Police said the attackers fired at least two rounds from behind a compound wall, striking the vehicle.
Driver Basavaraju recounted the events, stating, “Normally, Ricky takes the wheel as he loves driving. But yesterday, for some unknown reason, he asked me to drive and sat behind. Suddenly, we heard gunshots, and something hit the right door. We saw that Ricky was injured on his nose and was bleeding.”
