Kanpur: A man raped an eight-year-old girl after luring her with chocolates on Tuesday. The accused abandoned the girl in the bushes and fled the scene. Upon hearing the girl's cries, local residents found her and alerted her family.
The girl was playing outside her residence when a local resident lured her promising to give her chocolates.
In his complaint, the girl's father said that the accused took the girl to an isolated place and sexually assaulted her.
He then, abandoning the girl near the bushes, fled after issuing death threats.
Inspector Bahadur Singh of Rail Bazaar police station confirmed that they have registered a case against the accused. The girl was sent for medical examination and a manhunt has been launched to apprehend the suspect.
