Kanpur: Weather expert has predicted that the sky would remain clouded over the next five days giving relief from ongoing heatwave. Sunil Pandey, weather expert from Chandra Shekhar Azar Agriculture University, stated that their are chances of light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by strong winds, thunderstroms, and dust storms between May 2 and 4.
He mentioned that a cyclonic circulation is present over Southwest Rajasthan and adjoining areas. A trough originating from this cyclonic circulation extends from Southwest Rajasthan to Madhya Maharashtra. Additionally, a north-south trough extends from Vidarbha to Gulf of Mannar across Marathwada, interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, remaining active up to around 1.5 km high.
A new Western Disturbance is forecast to approach the Western Himalayas on May 2. Another cyclonic circulation is situated over northeast Assam. On Tuesday, the city registered a maximum temperature of 35.8°C, which is 3.2°C below normal.
The minimum temperature stood at 23°C, 0.3°C less than average. South-east winds were blowing at 9.9 kilometres per hour, with a maximum relative humidity of 68 per cent.
