'New face of terrorism': MP on Pak women marrying in India

Ranchi: BJP MP, Nishikant Dubey, on Monday raised concerns over what he describes as a "new face of Pakistani terrorism", claiming that over five lakh women from the country have entered India through marriages.

In a post on X, the Godda MP said the girls are yet to get their Indian citizenship.

"A new face of Pakistani terrorism has emerged. Over 5 lakh Pakistani girls are living in India after marrying Indians, but they have not been granted Indian citizenship. How do we fight against these enemies who have infiltrated?" Dubey wrote.

Dubey's remark comes after the govt revoked all categories of visas issued to Pakistani nationals, except long-term, diplomatic, and official visas, following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22.

Dubey termed the emergence of visas for Pakistani boys and girls in India, during the visa cancellation process, "alarming", which requires a thorough investigation.

"The Pakistani girls who married in India have not acquired Indian citizenship and have been residing in the country for years. Similarly, Pakistani men also married into Indian families. The motive behind these marriages is a matter of investigation…Aren't these Pakistani boys and girls living in the country India's enemy?" the BJP MP asked.

He said that this issue needs to be addressed first, along with taking action against terrorists who attacked in Pahalgam, adding, "Pakistan killed our citizens, and whoever assisted them in the attack or married in India in the pretext of assisting them, they also need to be investigated."
