Tom Hardy teases Venom vs. Spider-Man battle and future symbiote adventures

Tom Hardy, the talented man behind the extremely popular anti-hero Venom, obviously could not wait for his character to battle Tom Holland's Spider-Man in the next installment of the 'Venom' series. While promoting his new movie 'Venom: The Last Dance', which wraps up the 'Venom' trilogy, at New York Comic Con on October 18, 2024, Hardy did not seem to mind revealing that fight quite as much as one might have expected. Talking to fans, Hardy said that he would love to fight Spider-Man and be ready for it "today." He went on to emphasize that the goal of bringing Venom to big-screening was always the current game, and so now that trilogy is complete he still stays open to the idea of a crossover fight with Spider-Man in the future.

Even though Venom and Spider-Man never had the screen clash for which fans clamored, there have long been fights between the two characters that fans have demanded. According to Hardy, the result of 'The Last Dance' may mean the end of an era for Venom but certainly not of involvement for Venom or other symbiotes in the future.

Speculation was rife in the excitement when director Kelly Marcel joined Hardy at the event to tease the launching of Knull, a very powerful Marvel Comics character that brought in the symbiotes. The latest trailer for 'Venom' shows a short glimpse of Knull as sitting on some sort of dark throne with white, long hair, much like in the comics. Marcel also pointed out that even if Knull's introduction will only be the beginning for his future stories, although 'The Last Dance' would close the current chapter with the final installment of the Eddie Brock and Venom story.

'Venom: The Last Dance' will be a continuation of where 'Venom: Let There Be Carnage' (2021) ended. The storyline would be more or less based on the fact that Eddie and Venom would run from both of their worlds and would have to make a major decision that would close off their journey.

Besides Hardy, the movie will include Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans, and many more. The fans would love to see this last one in the series to have a proper closure of the story with Venom.

Aside from the 'Venom' trilogy, a whole new wave of Spider-Man universe is coming to Sony through other films. A very storied Spider-Man foe will be Kraven in Aaron Taylor-Johnson in 'Kraven the Hunter', which will be Sony's first R-rated solo Spider-Man film. The cast is superb-the picture boasts some notable casting with Russell Crowe, Ariana DeBose, and Alessandro Nivola.

Animated film 'Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse' hasn't been dated after the delay. Another Tom Holland-led 'Spider-Man' film is on the way for the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Destin Daniel Cretton attached to direct the project. Co-star Tom Holland has just announced on a podcast that both he and co-star Zendaya have already read the script for 'Spider-Man 4'. Though it's not yet completely in its best form, yet, Holland was quite ebullient about the project, describing it as a story fans will love.
