After Brock Purdy's extension, the San Francisco 49ers welcome RB Christian McCaffrey back from injury

On May 16, Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports reported that CMC(Christian McCaffrey) was one of the two things with the Carolina Panthers to open his career: All-Pro-calibre or injured.

The trend finally returned to San Francisco in 2024, when the multipurpose star followed up an Offensive Player of the Year campaign by missing 13 games with Achilles tendonitis.

Christian McCaffrey reacts to QB Brock Purdy ’s extension with the San Francisco 49ers



On May 16, Christian McCaffrey shared an Instagram story video of 25-year-old quarterback Brock Purdy. Purdy is pointing at his elbow in the video, then raising his arm to express power! McCaffrey captioned it, “Yessir 💰 @brock.purdy13” and attached 50 Cent’s I Get Money song to it!

The reason for attaching a (heavy)money bag to the IG story: Brock Purdy signed a 5-year deal with the San Francisco 49ers worth $265 million! It gives Purdy $45 million per year!

On May 16, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported, “It’s not a five-year extension that kicks in come 2026. His(Brock Purdy) remaining contract with $5.346 million in salary for 2025 gets torn up and replaced with a six-year, $279.346 million contract. That’s a per-year average from signing of $45.057!”
