She entered the WNBA with high hopes and bright lights, but Cameron Brink ’s rookie season took a sudden turn. A torn ACL sidelined his dreams, but not her soul. Now, as soon as the 2025 season begins, Cameron Brink is not just returning to court. She is speaking, giving heartfelt advice to people struggling with hate online, and reminding everyone what it really means beyond the screen.
Cameron Brink shares easy advice for online hatred
May 18, 2025, during an interview with the NBC Local in Los Angeles, Cameron Brink talked about how she tackles online negativity. She promoted “pretty damn good”, her campaign with optimal nutrition, when she gave honest advice to young girls.
Cameron Brink said, "I don't know how this will sound, but I really want to say just touch grass, go outside, read a book. Life is so much more than social media."
Cameron Brink also explained that what people see online is not always real. She said, "My social media is how I make money. But when I'm with the team or my friends, I'm not on my phone."
She shared how in high school, she met "undeserved hatred" and even had to change schools to feel safe and supported. Now she wants to help others know that they are not alone. She said, "High school is only four years of your life. The people who love you offline are what really matters."
Cameron Brink also said that she is grateful that young people today are more open about mental health. She talked about how to reach out and build support can make a big difference.
Her past, her return, and her message to fans
Cameron Brink was chosen by the Los Angeles Sparks as number 2 total Pick 2024 WNBA Draft. But just weeks later, on June 10, 2024, she broke the ACL during the game against the Phoenix Mercury.
