But now, the popular host has found himself in a huge scandal, and it involves an 18 year old college student, Mary Kate Cornett , from the University of Mississippi. It all started on 26th February when on his popular show, The Pat McAfee Show , Pat discussed an unverified gossip on the internet about a couple at the University of Mississippi. While Mary Kate Cornett’s name was not mentioned on the show, students linked her to the gossip, and she was heavily bullied for it.
Recently, Mary Kate Cornett spoke to The Athletic about the harassment she had to face and the trauma she had to go through for it and now, WWE fans are furious at Pat McAfee.
A fan took to X and wrote, “I'm only speaking on quality of work but Pat McAfee is one of the worst personalities to ever work for WWE. That's a lot of ground. Wretched.”

Mary Kate Cornett, the 18 year old college freshman at the University of Mississippi, spoke to The Athletic and said, “I would like people to be held accountable for what they’ve done”.
She added, “You’re ruining my life by talking about it on your show for nothing but attention, but here I am staying up until 5 in the morning, every night, throwing up, not eating because I’m so anxious about what’s going to happen for the rest of my life.”
Mary Kate Cornett’s parents have also supported their daughter through this controversy and spoke to The Athletic about the things they had to face as well; this includes many people threatening Mary Kate Cornett’s boyfriend, and even the Houston Police showed up at her mother’s house because of “swatting”.
While Pat McAfee has gotten involved in this controversy, he has not issued a statement yet.
