Jesper Boqvist, Aaron Ekblad Lead Panthers in Game 5 blowout

On Tuesday, May 14, the Florida Panthers beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 6-1 in Game 5 of their second-round series. The game was held at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.

The Panthers took control early, with a late first-period goal from Aaron Ekblad. In the second period, they scored three more goals, building a 4-0 lead. Jesper Boqvist added a goal and an assist, and Sam Reinhart contributed two assists.

Toronto finally got on the scoreboard with just over a minute left in the third period, but by then, it was too late. The Panthers had already scored six goals.

Now, Florida leads the series 3-2 and returns home for Game 6. A win tonight would send them back to the Eastern Conference Final for the third year in a row.

This series has been tough for Toronto. It’s only their second time in the second round since 2004, and they haven’t reached the conference finals since 2002.

With everything at stake, fans will be watching closely as the Maple Leafs try to stay alive and the Panthers try to finish the job.
