Critics target Harris for hiring adviser linked to dark money group pushing gas stove ban

Critics are targeting US Vice President Kamala Harris for appointing a campaign adviser connected to an environmental organisation advocating for gas stove prohibition .

O H Skinner, executive director of the nonprofit Alliance for Consumers , told Fox News Digital that "this is sadly par for the course."

"For years the left has been focused on assaulting consumers and the things in their homes. That has included a litany of Biden-Harris regulations and mandates," he said. "From 'green' regulations on dishwashers and washing machines to EV mandates and bans on gas stoves, a Harris-Walz administration will no doubt continue to eviscerate consumer choice and force Americans to pay more for everyday products and household appliances that do a worse job."

The controversy centres around the hiring of Camila Thorndike as " climate engagement director ." Prior to joining Harris's campaign in September, Thorndike held various positions at Rewiring America between late 2022 and recently, according to her Legistorm profile.

Rewiring America gained attention in 2022 for its campaign to eliminate gas stoves from households.

The organisation operates under the Windward Fund , a nonprofit within the billion-dollar network overseen by Arabella Advisors in Washington, DC, and therefore does not submit federal tax documentation.
