Lucknow: Shahjahanpur will soon get the country's first landing airstrip to enable fighter aircraft conduct night training exercises of landing and take-off.
The facility is being developed at a 3.5km-long airstrip on the Ganga Expressway .
On Sunday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted an inspection of the airstrip. The facility will be secured with 250 CCTV cameras installed along both sides to ensure security, facilitating swift police response to any incidents.
CM also revealed plans to extend the Ganga Expressway from Prayagraj to Ghazipur, and Meerut to Haridwar.
Shahjahanpur is set to host an industrial hub along the expressway, creating employment opportunities for thousands of young people and stimulating regional economic growth.
The CM announced that the Ganga Expressway will connect to Bundelkhand via a link expressway from Farrukhabad, fostering industrial development in the region. He said that the expressway would significantly contribute to Uttar Pradesh's development, with construction scheduled for completion by Nov.
