Kendrapada: A 28-year-old married woman was allegedly kidnapped, stabbed, tortured and molested on Tuesday evening in Jajpur district. The matter came into light on Saturday evening after the women lodged an FIR against three accused, who are on the run.
According to the complaint by the woman, a nurse, she was abducted by three miscreants, including an auto-rickshaw driver, while she was returning home in the vehicle. Two men were already in the auto when she boarded it. She was forcefully taken to an isolated place where she was molested by the three. When she tried to resist, the woman was tortured and stabbed. They threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the incident.
The woman was rescued by two persons who admitted her to the district hospital in Jajpur. On Saturday, she lodged an FIR following her discharge from the hospital. Police registered a case under various sections of BNS and have launched an investigation.
"A special team has been formed to investigate the case. All three accused have fled from their homes. We are raiding their hideouts to nab them," said IIC Sarat Patra.
